Terry Lynn and I got to go with the Hampshire High Italian Exchange in the Spring of 2004.
Rita Hott, German teacher, was the driving force that has made the trip “happen” for many years. Bill Moore, biology teacher, displayed in so many ways the spirit of the trip. His Italian language skills were probably as bad as mine, but his personality (think friendly, goofy Labrador retriever) added much to the trip. We were lucky to accompany an exceptional group of young folks. We will always cherish the memories of this trip.
I’m guessing we arrived in Vercelli (via Milan) on Thursday, March 25, 2004. We were hosted by Ornella Gangi and Fabrizio Brancaleon.
Vercelli is a beautiful city in the Italian Piemonte, between Milano and Turino.
The first day we toured Ornella’s school, Lyceo Lagrangia, Instituto Rosa Stampa and toured Vercelli (Basilica of Sant’Andrea, il Duomo,and the Seminario Arcivescovile, .
