2003 was a year of many joys and tragic losses, beginnings and farewells. The loss of Dad in November still does not seem real. He had become very active in community affairs, and he stayed very busy working around the farm. He lived a very full 83 years. We are very proud of him, and of course we miss him terribly. It was very reassuring to hear old and recent friends, family, and acquaintences speak of Dad's and Mom's many wonderful qualities. 2002 was the first Christmas without Mom. We treasure the time we had with Dad, but we also know how lonely he was missing Mom. The kindness we experienced during this time was incredible.
